John Gunnison

Restoration commenced in 2010 on the large, red boyhood home in Goshen, New Hampshire where John Williams Gunnison was born to Samuel Gunnison and Elizabeth Williams on 11 November 1812. Walter R. Nelson

Goshen historian Walter R. Nelson wrote his first history of Goshen at twenty years of age. It became the basis of his major work entitled History of Goshen New Hampshire Settled 1769 Incorprtaes (sic) 1791 which was published in 1957 and reprinted n 1984. (more)


Elias Pike

Elias Pike




Elias Pike of Goshen, an ex-member of the New Hampshire Legislature and a veteran of the Civil War, was born in this town, October 12, 1838, son of Wilson S. and Julia Gil(martin) Pike. His grandfather, Jarvis Pike, who resided in Newport NH, was a prosperous farmer. (more)
